Let’s start with the obvious, It does get you comfortable in front of the camera
You may or may not be able to channel a fierce blue steel at home in front of the mirror, but chances are, like most of our couples, being in front of the camera makes you a little nervous.

Many people have never experienced a photoshoot or had a professional photographer take photos for then so it’s normal to feel a little strange. During an engagement shoot you will learn how to take directions and become far more comfortable in front of the camera and with your photographer.
You get to spend some quality time with your photographer
Fun fact, you will spend more time with your photographer than any other person on your wedding day, including your fiance. Shocking, we know, but it’s the truth. “We are with you from your prep in the morning until you are dancing the night away in the evening, so an engagement shoot can be a really nice opportunity for us to get to know each other before the day.

In the next few months your whole world will change as you transition into your new roles as husband and wife. This process is rare and special, and it will be nice to look back and smile at the beginning of your journey into marriage and your young love.
You can shoot at a different location to your wedding day
Variety is the spice of life and you are on a tight schedule on your wedding day, which can mean you miss out on locations you had your heart set on. All of our engagement shoots are done in and around Brisbane so we can explore another location you may not be able to get to on your wedding day.
No one needs an engagement shoot, but they are really nice to have!
You are going to have incredible photos on your wedding day no matter what! Rain hail or shine, your wedding photographers (whoever you choose) will be able to get the best out of you and your partner because they are working with such beautiful raw material. Engagement shoots are a great way for you to document the very beginning of your marriage, get some images for your save the dates, test your hair and makeup and generally have a wonderful frolic in a park with the love of your life for the afternoon which is why we love them so much.
