Kim + Des

“We met at a nightclub – lol. We both had recently come out of long term relationships hoping to enjoy single life for a while… life had other plans for us.” Kim and Des’ story began with a chance meeting in a nightclub, that was swiftly followed by a surprise proposal from Des, while out having a picnic alongside the Brisbane river. Clearly, Kim’s answer was yes, and the wedding planning begins!

From the get-go, Kim and Des knew that they wanted their wedding to be modern, timeless and romantic. They decided to get married in Saint Stephen’s Cathedral, Brisbane’s oldest cathedral. Everything looked absolutely perfect, the ago old cathedral with the modern shape of Kim’s Euphorie Studios dress and the all white floral arrangements from Bouquet Boutique. It’s easy to see just how in love Kim and Des are, there was non-stop smiling all through the ceremony, from both Kim and Des and their adoring guests.

The location shoot was around the corner at the newly renovated 155 Charlotte Street (more fondly known as Midtown Center) and the old Treasury building. Truly everything about this wedding was timeless, modern and romantic which is just what Kim and Des wished for right at the start of their wedding planning.

Obviously choosing a photographer and videographer to capture your day and bring your visions to fruition is no easy task. After some research, Kim and Des landed on Evernew Studio and had Hayley and Pat capture their wedding day. The couple’s wants and needs lined up perfectly with the Evernew style and even more so with Hayley and Pat’s personal shooting styles. It’s these kinds of collaborations that allow us to capture such stunning weddings.

The reception was held at the Emporium, Southbank and the elegance of this modern wedding continued. Kim and Des chose to go with a very modern white on white theme with the help of Athena from Celebrating in Style event stylists. The night went off without a hitch, indoor fireworks at every event elevated every moment captured. The party that followed was one to remember, with everyone up and out of their seats, bouquets flying through the air and even a foam gun to really get the party started!
