Brisbane City Hall Wedding | Helen + Sam

Helen and Sam’s wedding was one of 2018’s most highly anticipated events for us. Having captured the marriage of two members of the family previously, we were delighted when the happy couple told us of their plans for a grand and traditional Egyptian celebration. The ceremony took place at the Greek Orthodox Church in West End, and they were honored by the attendance of clergy members traveling from Egypt. Sams own brother, Father Moses, even made his first journey out of the monastery for the occasion! The only moment that went off plan was when Helen fainted during the ceremony. But, to our slight confusion and amusement, the service simply proceeded. When there are 3 hours of blessings to administer, sometimes it’s best to just keep calm and carry on, so they say.  Sam was what Groom Dreams were made of – asking Helen in the months before if there was anything she’d love to experience on the big day. Jokingly, Helen told him she’d love to feel like a princess, and in a fabulous surprise on exiting the church, Sam had secretly organised her a horse and carriage ride to their reception in City Hall! Look closely and you’ll also find other beautiful nods towards a royal theme – a castle and glass slipper in their towering cake and a sparkling tiara for their first dance together. We couldn’t be happier for this kind and wonderful couple, and it was a true pleasure for Steph and Danny to capture these memories for them.
